Carrer options for a 17year old highschool graduate?

Question by Splicer201: Carrer options for a 17year old highschool graduate?
I am 17 years old and graduated high school last year with a Cert 1 and 2 in Information Technology Systems and and Cert 1 in engineering. My whole school life i had been dedicated to going to University. However in late Year 12 circumstances changed and university no longer became an option. I wanted to become an engineer and dreamed of building and designing electronic gismos. I am also very interested in writing.
However i live in a small isolated minning community and i have kinda been brainwashed into believing that an aprentiship is the smartest thing to further my life and create a stable carrer and i have heard this from friends family youthworkers teachers ect. After grduating i started a radio-tech aprentiship and have been doing this for the past few weeks. While i find i do enjoy working with tools, ecpecially electronic equipment, i have found that my trade is far to boring and very un-technical. Most days i find myself contemplating working somewere simple like in retail.
Im having a hard time trying to decide wether to stay with my trade. All in all its a decent job with good career benfits and a prestigious title in my community that will give me skills for work for my furutre, and something that i guess i could contemplate doing. However at the same time, i find the work boring and far between, the skills un-technical. I find that the work is in my interest, but i have other intrests that i am more keen on persuring such as jobs working with computer hardware/software or becomming a writer.
However like i said i live in a small minning town so the chocies are either aprentiships, university or some meaningless retail job. The retail job and the aprentiship both have there possitives and negatives and im trying to decide doing some meaningfull job but be mildly uncontempt about it, or have a crusy job with little career value.
What options are there for me after i finish highschool. University is still not an option, but i find myself interested in physics and maths ect, and extremmly untalented when it comes to commen sence and tools, although i have interets retaining to electronics.

Creating A Real Career With A Architecture Degrees

A job as an architect refers to the science of designing of buildings and all other physical structures. Quite interestingly, many people consider as an art as well for the immense potential of creativity in it. Management of construction details, designing of landscape etc are also considered a part of it. Architects have to take care of environmental, social, functional and technical considerations while doing designing. The way an architecture degree can benefit every aspiring individual is discussed in following lines.
A lot of effort must be put in planning process before constructing any building. Skills of an architect are pretty crucial in this all important phase of construction. It is necessary that the architect must have got his or her architecture degree after undergoing a study program at a recognized school.
This mainly because of the reason that architects ought to know about the tools, material and practices involved in construction process. They must be capable enough for management of laying down supply routes for electricity, gas and plumbing. Only then they would be able to guide actual construction process to success.
Conventional methods used in schools that provide an architect degree to students relied heavily on designing by hand. But technology has changed this practice in a big way with introduction of computer based tools. These tools make designing a lot more easier than what used to be in earlier times.
It is worthwhile to know that architectural studies are also conducted by schools that operate on internet. These schools happen to be perfect for those individuals who are unable to take time off from their busy work schedules for studying. One must get enrolled with such schools only after ensuring their accreditation.
One must check whether his or her school has been accredited by the National Architectural Accrediting Board (NAAB). Individuals need to obtain license to operate from their respective state agencies after getting an architecture degree from a recognized school. It is beneficial for them to inquire about rules and regulations in this regard in their states.

Start your New Career in Internet Marketing

So you’ve decided to change careers or just start a new career to make some extra money.  Internet Marketing is a good choice.  Technology jobs are the jobs of the future and you could give yourself a chance for a better future by learning something new.
The first thing that you will need is self discipline.  Starting a business online is going to take some time and you will not be paid immediately, therefore we may not be as motivated as if we were receiving an hourly wage.  The cool thing about internet marketing is that if you take the time to learn new skills as you start your new career, you could place yourself in a position where you’ll never have to work for someone else again.  I don’t know about you, but I sure like the thought of that.
The best way to start your new career is to educate yourself.  There are many things to be learned about internet marketing.  If you are serious, you will take the time to learn some new skills that will help you in your new career.  I do not want to make you feel overwhelmed.  Just remember to take one step at a time.  Here are some things you will be learning as you start your new career in Internet Marketing.  You’ll have to learn the basics of building a web page of your very own, learning a little SEO (Search Engine Optimization), how to write articles and fill your website with content (really it’s not that hard), and get traffic to your website.  You can do this with literally zero overhead cost, except for a good internet connection.
I highly recommend to find a good internet marketing training program that will get you set up for success.  Just lately I have come to realize the value of networking with other internet marketers.  You will find that as you get educated when you start your new career in internet marketing that not all your friends will understand you when you tell them about your new endeavor.  That’s why it’s so important to network with other like minded individuals.  It will boost your skills and productivity.  I also highly recommend getting some internet marketing coaching.  It might cost you a from to 0′s of dollars a month, but it is worth it.  If you can humble yourself to let someone guide and lead you, you will have a better chance of succeeding.  Remember your coach has been there and done that.  They care about your success.  They’ve made the mistakes already and can save you a lot of time and money as you start your new career.
Prepare for your future.  If you stick with internet marketing, take the time to learn the skills, your life could completely change.  It will change the way you feel about yourself, your life, and the extra time and money to spend with your family.  This is only a side effect of your actions, especially when you take the time to get internet marketing coaching as you start your new career.

How to Begin a Career in Freelance Writing

While freelancing is not a new market by any means, it has grown immensely due in large part to the popularity of the internet. Thanks to its partner in crime the web, the internet is able to offer golden opportunities for writers, photographers, designers, and just about anyone with the desire to indulge in freelancing from the comfort of their own home. Since writing is the focus here, this article will explain what you need to do in order to begin a career as a freelance writer.
Create Your Portfolio
No matter how skilled you are as a writer, few clients will feel comfortable hiring you without some credentials to back you up. Don’t worry, acquiring the credentials you need for potential clients to take you serious is as simple as building a good portfolio. Write up a few good articles, and publish them on free content sites such as Yahoo’s Associated Content, Helium, and Hub Pages. Not only are these sites great for building a portfolio, but they also receive a lot of traffic, which could draw more eyes to your work, and possibly attract some clients as well.
Start Looking for Writing Gigs
Once you have a good portfolio, it is time to go out and find yourself some freelance writing gigs. This part can be a bit intimating at first, but trust me, it is much easier than you think. So where do you go to look for gigs? Your friendly search engine of course. Remember, this is the internet – the virtual land of opportunity. A simple search for “freelance writing jobs” will yield tons of relevant results that can point you in the direction of your first gig. The most important aspect of the job seeking process is your application. In order to beat out the dozens to hundreds of potential candidates, you must be clear and concise on why you are the man (or woman) for the job.
Build Your Website
Although a portfolio on the aforementioned content publishing sites is enough to get you started, you will eventually need your own website to make an impact as a freelance writer. Trust me, this is for the best. Having your own site makes you look more credible, professional, and will cause potential clients to take you more seriously. More than likely, you will need a web hosting service provider to deliver all the tools and technology to actually create your site. This is another process in itself, but for now, I recommend going with either HostGator or LunarPages. These are two dependable companies that will take care of you and provide everything you need to create a professional website for your new freelance business.
Good Luck!
You need the skill as a writer of course, but with that intact, this is all it takes to start a career in freelancing writing. The internet and its infinite resources makes it a heck of a lot easier than in past times. So what are you waiting for? Get out there, and start building your freelance writing business!
